listed as Granary/Cart Lodge
at Terling Hall Farm)

Cartlodge with granary over. Late C17/early C18. Timber framed, constructed of
re-used C15/C16 timber, weatherboarded, formerly roofed with handmade red clay
tiles, but covered only with tarpaulins at time of survey, January 1985. 7 bays
facing S, the middle bay providing through access and loading facility, the
other bays open to the front. Lean-to extension forming an aisle to the rear.
2-bay C19 extension to right, enclosed. 2 storeys. Chamfered axial beams,
chamfered binding beams with step stops, plain joists of horizontal section,
original floorboards. Arched braces, mostly replaced by bolted knees. Good
series of chisel-cut carpenters' assembly marks. Clasped purlin roof without
wind bracing, half-hipped.
