Wrongly shown on OS map as Maddox Hall. Cottage. 1847. Timber framed,
plastered, roofed with red clay tiles. 3 bays facing SE with a stack in each
gable wall, and original lean-to at rear. C19/C20 single-storey extension at
rear right corner. 2 storeys. 2-window range of casements, original except
right ground floor window, which is a C20 replica. Central flush 4-panel door,
original. Inscribed date on right stack. The name comes from a house which
formerly occupied the site, shown on Chapman and André's map of 1777.
