House. C.1600, altered in C18 and C20. Timber framed, plastered, roofed with
handmade red clay tiles. 4 bays facing SE, with axial stack one bay from left
end. One-bay extension at right end, C18, with C20 external stack at rear. 2
storeys. SE elevation, ground floor, 2 C20 casements; first floor, one C18
wrought iron casement, another with an additional fixed light, and one C20
casement. C20 glazed door. NW elevation, ground floor, 3 C20 casements; first
floor, 2 C20 casements, 2 C18 3-light windows each with one wrought iron
casement, one C18 and one C17. C20 glazed door. The interior has jowled posts,
arched corner bracing trenched inside the studding, and a face-halved and bladed
scarf in the front wallplate. The floor, with chamfered axial beam and plain
joists of vertical section, has been raised approx. 0.30 metre. Large
wood-burning hearth. 2 C17 moulded doors, each of 4 planks. RCHM 29.
