House. C17, altered in C20. Timber framed, plastered with some framing
exposed, roof thatched. 4 bays aligned E-W, with axial stack in second bay from
W end. C18/C19 extension along most of N side, with catslide roof. E gable end
towards road, frame exposed at this end only. One storey with attics. 2 C20
casements on ground floor, one on first floor. Door in lean-to porch in left
return wall. Jowled posts, rising straight braces at corners trenched inside
studs, chamfered transverse beams with lamb's tongue stops, plain joists of
vertical section supported on pegged clamps. 2 large wood-burning hearths, that
facing E having a chamfered mantel beam with lamb's tongue stops, that facing W
having a rounded back. Upper storey not inspected.
