Barn approx. 20 metres north-east of Summers Hall Farmhouse

Barn. Late C16, altered in C17. Timber framed, weatherboarded, roofed with
corrugated asbestos. 5 bays aligned approx. N-S, with C17 midstrey to E of
second bay from N end. Single-storey lean-to extensions roofed with red clay
pantiles to S of midstrey and at S end of barn. Jowled posts, heavy studding,
some arched braces to cambered tiebeams, face-halved and bladed scarfs in
wallplates, clasped purlin roof with inclined queen struts, arched wind-bracing,
and steep hip at S end. The S bay is partitioned from the remainder and
plastered internally, concealing much of the structure.
