House. Early C16, extended in late C17. Timber framed, mainly plastered,
roofed with handmade red clay tiles. 3-bay range aligned NE-SW, early C16, with
axial stack at SW end. 3-bay parallel range to SE with rear stack in left bay,
late C17. Small single-storey extension with slate roof to left, and
single-storey extension to rear. 2 storeys. SE elevation (to High Street),
2-window range of C20 sashes of 4 lights. C20 door in late C16 style. The
original (rear) range has jowled posts, some studding exposed internally, plain
joists of horizontal section with a blocked stair trap in the right bay,
chamfered transverse and axial beams and chamfered joists of horizontal section,
all with lamb's tongue stops, in the remainder. In the upper rear wall there is
a blocked unglazed window with diamond mortices. The roof is of crownpost
construction with axial braces, ceiled below collar-purlin level. On the first
floor there is an early C17 (or earlier) ledged door. The front block has 2
chamfered transverse beams with lamb's tongue stops.
