1/60 Barn 40 metres south
west of Smeetham Hall

Barn. Mid C16. Timber framed and plastered on partly original red brick plinth
and part black weatherboarded in the gable ends. Roof is gabled and of corru-
gated asbestos with a central lean-to roof over the great door on the south
side. Aisled on both sides and of 5 bays, the roof is crown post, with flat
profile longitudinal braces and single alternate sided down bracing. Jowled
posts, curving aisle passing-braces and some wall bracing. Moated site.
