5/80 1 and 2 Lower Farm

Pair of cottages, formerly small farmhouse. C16 or earlier. Timber framed
and plastered with pantile roof, hipped at south and gabled at north with
Suffolk verge boards. Of one storey with attics with off centre 'L' form stack,
gable end stack and two gabled dormers. Single storey later gabled extensions
project forward at both ends of front. 2 plain entrance doors and a mixture
of C19 casements, some with small panes, some with single horizontal glazing
bars and one early C19 double hung sash with small panes. Probable small open
hall with heavy framing, joists and jowled posts. Early inglenook fireplace
to No. 2 under old ridge line stack.
