Two interlocking walled gardens, late C18 in red brick with some grey headers.
Main garden walls are approx. 3m high with square piers with stone copings and
outer face has battered coping. South west smaller garden has walls of variable
character generally lower in height. Arched gateways with wrought iron gates
in centre of east face of main garden and in north west corner. Beebole in
south end of west wall. Stone plaque within north west corner of main garden
states: SIR JOHN MARRIOTT LAID THIS FOUNDATION STONE OF THE NEW CHURCH OF
TWINSTEAD 29TH DAY OF JUNE 1791 JOHN BRADFORD CARPENTER ISAAC SLYTHE BRICKLAYER
AND MASON. Obviously reused. (Twinstead Hall is not listable)
