Stables. Late C18. Red Flemish bond brickwork with low pitched slate roofs.
Of 'U' shaped plan form with pediment gables at both ends of side wings, with
stone copings to parapets. Rectangular vertical panelling in brickwork with
deep sunken grooves on flank and fronts of east and west wings. The south
elevation of the centre block has a 5 bay arcade with the outer 2 bays
projecting slightly forward as blank recesses. The 3 centre bays have semi-
circular glazed infill with radiating 'fan' glazing bars over double doors. The
outer 2 bays have a circular window over a small door opening. The south
elevation of the wings are similar with segmental arched windows over a blank
rectangular recess. Dentilled brick eaves cornices and dentils within pediment.
Similar gables at north end of side wings but with circular ventilators in
pediment and segmental windows below. Later, gabled extensions to rear and cast
iron small pane window with arched head in north (rear) wall. Roof has king
posts 'V' struts and side purlins. (Twinstead Hall is not listable).
