Pair of attached cottages. 1835. Red brick in Flemish bond, roofed with slate.
2 square plans with shared stacks, facing S. 2 storeys. 2-window range of
original sashes of 20 lights in segmental arches and 2 inserted first-floor
sashes. Entrances in the end walls, with semi-circular brick arches. Both
gables timber framed and plastered. With nos. 9 and 11 these form the best
group of C19 estate cottages remaining in Braintree District (item 8/34, q.v.).
