House. C16 and C17, extended and extensively restored in C20. Timber framed,
plastered with some rendered brick, roofed with handmade red plain tiles. Main
range facing NW, with axial stack. 2 storeys with attics, single-storey
extension to right with axial stack. Ground floor, 2 square bays and 3
casements, all C20. Gabled and glazed porch converted to minor extension. First
floor, 4 casements and imitation large hall window, all C20. 2 C20 casements in
gabled dormers. Recessed porch in right extension. Roof hipped. Frame partly
exposed internally. C17 side-purlin roof. Probably built for Geoffrey Game,
butcher, who died in 1572. (Wherein I Dwell, Earls Colne WEA, 1983, 58). RCHM
