green at the junction
with Coggeshall Road

Pump. 1853. Cast iron. Octagonal, on octagonal plinth. In Gothic Revival
style, with moulded base, recessed traceried panels on each side, with octagonal
ogee domed cap. Base inscribed 'This well was digged in the year of grace 1853
in thankful commemoration of the absence of cholera. For the common use of the
people and so to promote unto cleanliness our wells. Bless in the Lord Save Him
Magnify Him for ever'. Interlaced design on spout.
