TL 82 NW GREENSTEAD GREEN AND STISTED ROAD

House. Cl6 or earlier. Timber framed, plastered, NE gable end faced with red
brick in Flemish bond, roofed with handmade red plain tiles. Single range
facing SE, with one axial stack near left end and another at right end. Small
single-storey lean-to extension to rear. 2 storeys. Ground floor, 4 C20
casements and one C19 horizontal sash of 12 lights. First floor, 3 similar
horizontal sashes. C20 half-glazed door. One in-pitch skylight in each roof
slope; the rear slope also has one C20 casement in a lean-to dormer. The right
gable end (towards Stisted Road) has one C20 casement on each floor. Heavy
timber frame of curious form with large unjowled posts and curved internal wall
bracing. The left bay is a later extension. C17 inserted floor throughout.
