Barn. Late C16. Timber framed, weatherboarded, roofed with corrugated
asbestos, on base walls of red brick in English bond. 5 bays aligned NE-SW,
with C18 midstrey to SE. Main roof half-hipped, midstrey gabled. Jowled posts,
arched corner bracing inside heavy studding, edge-halved and bridled scarfs in
wallplates, arched braces to tiebeams, butt-purlin roof with additional clasped
purlins in upper pitches. The wall framing at the SW end, and in the SE wall
adjacent to it, has been renewed with ligher studding and primary straight
bracing. Brick partition to tiebeam height to SE of central bay, enclosing the
arched braces. The midstrey interrupts the wallplate, and has unjowled posts
and primary straight bracing. Perces Farmhouse is not listed.
