23.1.80 II

House. Early C19. Gault brick in Flemish bond, roofed with slate. Main range
facing S, with 2 end stacks and central stack. 2 rear wings, forming a
rectangular plan, and further wing beyond to rear right. 2 storeys. The
central part of the S elevation breaks forward, with a prominent pediment gable.
Ground floor, 4 large sashes of 12 lights with flat arches of gauged brick.
First floor, 4 smaller similar windows with crown glass, and central sash with
marginal lights and diagonal glazing bars at the corners. Central glazed double
doors with marginal lights, rectangular overlight with geometrical tracery, in
C20 porch with piers of gault brick and flat roof. Low-pitched roof with long
overhanging eaves. The left (west) elevation has on the ground floor one sash
similar to the central sash of the S elevation, 2 on the first floor, and a
blind aperture on each floor. Original glazed door with marginal lights and
overlight, in original porch of rendered brick with Doric pilasters, blocking
course, dentilled eaves and flat roof, with C20 outer glazed doors.
