House, now shop. C16 or earlier, altered in C19. Timber framed, plastered,
roofed with handmade red plain tiles. 2 bays facing S, with internal stack at
rear left corner. C20 single-storey extension to rear with flat roof. 2
storeys. Ground floor, one late C19 sash of 3+3 lights, and C20 shopfront.
First floor, 2 similar sashes. Central C20 half-glazed door in early C19 simple
doorcase with moulded shallow flat canopy. The interior of the ground floor is
divided by an inserted studded partition to left of the door. In the left part,
plain joists of horizontal section arranged longitudinally, transverse beams
plastered over. In the right part, chamfered axial beam with step stops, joists
plastered to the soffits. The first floor rooms are wholly plastered. RCHM
