half-glazed door in early C19 reeded architrave. Plain parapet projecting
slightly from elevation. Roof rebuilt to align with that of no. 2, hipped to

introduced early C20 bow window and one C18/early C19 sash of 12 lights, re-set.
Ground floor, both hearths blocked. Studding of rear wall removed, girt and
binding beam boxed. Early C19 quarter-turn stair at rear left of main part,
with turned newels, moulded left rail with stick balusters, C20 reproduction
rail and balusters to right. In the right wall some C18 studding is exposed,
infilled with earlier bricks, and a panel is exposed behind glass of a fragment
of rubble wall composed of flint and roofing tiles. On first floor, late C19
cast iron grate with white marble surround in front stack. Frame mainly
concealed by interior finishes. The smoke-blackened end wall of the adjacent
