Cottage, subdivided into 2 dwellings. C17 or earlier, altered in C20.
Timber framed, plastered with some exposed framing, roofed with handmade
red plain tiles. 3 bays aligned NW-SE (gable end to street). Catslide
extension along full length of right side. One internal stack near front
left corner, another on axis at rear end. One storey with attics. One
C20 casement on ground floor, one late C19 casement on first floor. C20
door of lapped vertical planks, with C20 gabled canopy. Exposed in the
front elevation are 2 hardwood posts, and 2 jointed and pegged girts.
The right return has 2 C19 horizontal sashes of 24 lights with handmade
glass, and 3 C20 horizontal sashes of 8 lights in weatherboarded gabled
dormers. The left return has C20 casements, and shaped sprockets at the
eaves. The rear elevation has exposed studding jointed and pegged to a
tiebeam, the ends of wallplates, and the last couple of a clasped purlin
roof.
