of no. 6, Covenbrook
Cottages

GV II

Pair of gateposts. Early C19. Cast iron. Octagonal, with flared capitals and
squat, ogee profile finials with floral bud termination on the more northerly
post, overall height 1.75 metres; bud termination missing from the more
southerly post, overall height 1.55 metres. Probably contemporary with the
formation of Stisted Hall Park, 1823-5, and designed by the architect of Stisted
Hall, Henry Hakewill. See items 7/256 and 7/267.
