GV II

Overflow sluice of Stisted Mill. C18/19. Red brick in English bond, oak, and
mechanism of cast iron. Brick emplacement with concave splays downstream, 4.72
metres apart. Frame of heavy oak timbers containing 3 wooden gates, each 1.13
metres wide, depth unknown, in grooves 0.06 metre square, in posts 0.29 metre
square. Each has a spanner-operated rack and pinion lifting gear with ratchets
(rack of middle gate missing), with rear rollers 0.13 metre wide. See Stisted
