TL 82 NW STISTED TUMBLER'S GREEN

Farmhouse

Barn. Late C18/early C19. Timber framed and weatherboarded on plinth of red
brick in Flemish bond, roofed with corrugated asbestos. 10 bays aligned NW-SE
with 2 midstreys to NE. Open lean-to with slate roof in E angle. Lean-to
between midstreys, roofed with red clay 'Roman' tiles and slate. Lean-to in N
angle roofed with corrugated red clay tiles. 2 pairs of great doors to SW. To
NE, one pair of vehicle doors, other midstrey blocked, 3 halved doors, and 2
high pitching doors. Base walls 2 metres high, plastered inside. Primary
straight bracing, bolted knees to straight tiebeams, face-halved and bladed
scarfs in wallplates, clasped purlin roof.
