STISTED

TL 72 SE KING'S LANE

JENKIN'S FARM

Barn, late C16 in origin but mainly early C19. Ground floor red brick with some
early brickwork in random pattern, 1st floor weatherboarded. Slate roof. Three
bay barn aligned E-W. Midstrey to south with opposing porch on north. Timber boarded
lean-to roofed corrugated asbestos to east of midstrey. Brick lean-to roofed
corrugated asbestos on west of midstrey. Later lean-to attached to north porch and
west side of building do not form part of this item. Oak frame with some reused
timbers. Bolted knees connect straight tie beams to unjowled storey posts. Primary
braced construction. Face halved and bladed scarfs in wall plates. Square section
rafters with clasped side purlin roof. Chiselled carpenters marks. Included for
group value.
