TL 50 NW BOBBINGWORTH STONY LANE
1/20 Hobbans Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. C17 with C15/16 wing to rear right. Timber framed, the ground floor
with pargetted plaster and weatherboard to first floor. Hipped red plain tile
roof. 2 storeys. 3 window range to first floor of C19 small paned casements, 2
to ground floor of C20 casements. There are original C17 leaded windows to
rear. Central gabled, tiled porch with C20 door with small paned lights.
Central red and gault brick chimney stack with original red brick back to back
fireplace, one side with brick Tudor arch, the other with mantel beam and
remains of inserted oven. Matching fireplaces on first floor. Front range of 2
bays and smoke bay with jowled storey posts and stop chamfered beams. 2 mullion
windows. The rear range with collars to every rafter pair but crownpost not
visible. Relaid red brick herringboned floor.
