TL 50 SW ONGAR GREENSTED ROAD

House. Mainly early c19,Late C18 painted brick clad, with grey slate roof, but
with probable early timber framed core. Of complex plan, possibly originally
half H-plan. 2 storeys. Hip to left range and open pediment to right with
ornate projecting eaves. 1:2:1 window range of small paned vertical sliding
sashes. Recessed C20 glazed door, plain surround with frieze, and moulded flat
canopy. Right return with open pediment to left 2 window range with moulded
surrounds, the ground floor of 3 lights with moulded canopy and brackets and
ground cill. Central band. 2 painted brick chimney stacks with cream colour
rectangular, fluted pots. Internally one good C18/19 fireplace and one carved
wooden chimney place dated 1636.
