8/72 No 212 Ongar House

GV II

House and forward outbuilding now used as an office. C18 and Cl9 with third
floor added 1952. Gault brick built with hipped plain red tiled roof. Moulded
cornice to eaves. Symmetrical front with recessed centre bay to first and
second floors. 5 window range of small paned vertical sliding sashes with
gauged brick arches. Band between ground and first floor. Central first floor
window with heavy moulded architrave, flat canopy and foliated brackets. C20
glazed, enclosed, flathead porch, approached by steps. Door with moulded canopy
and plain frieze and pilasters. There is a good, central cast iron gate with
ornate arrowhead finials.
