GV II

House, set in pleasant garden to East of Church. Probably Cl6 (date 1599 on
a beam which used to be in attic) extensively altered Cl8. Mainly timber framed
and plastered, the front wall gault bricked c.1835 now painted white. Red plain
tiles to double range roof. 2 storeys, basement and attics with 4 flat head
dormers. 4 window range of small paned, vertical sliding sashes. Plain
parapet. Central C20 glazed door and C20 surround. Porch with 4 square pillar
supports with moulded bases and capitals to flat canopy. Attached red brick
diagonal shaft chimney to left, large rectangular chimney stack with 6 chimney
pots to centre and a red brick stack to right. Internally there is good C18
panelling to lounge and hall and a fine fireplace. Moulded cornice to ceilings
and fluted pilasters with moulded capitals to Hall alcove. A fine Cl8
staircase. Reputed to be a C16 fireplace in one attic. RCHM 4.
