Small house, C17, extended in C19. Timber framed, plastered, roofed with
handmade red clay tiles. 4 bays aligned approx. E-W, aspect S. Axial chimney
stack in second bay from E. External chimney stackon W gable end. One-bay
extension to E with internal chimney stack at end, C19. Lean-to extension to
rear of W end, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. Lean-to extension to rear
of E end, roofed with interlocking concrete tiles. Single storey with attics.
Plain door, 4 C19/20 casement windows, 3 more in gabled dormers. Chimney stacks
cement rendered. Plain chamfered beam with lamb's tongue and notch stops in
ground floor room to W of axial stack. Jowled posts, in original building,
with arched braces to wallplate and tiebeam, trenched outside studs. Tiebeam
between 2 E bays severed and strongly framed round doorway, C20. original
winding stair to N of axial stack.
