Cottage, late C17, extended in C18 and C19. Timber framed, roughcast rendered
with weatherboarded dado, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. 2 bays aligned
approx. NE-SW, aspect SE, with axial chimney stack at SW end. Single storey
with attics. 2 storey extension to SW, early C18, later extended to NW, later
extended to SW. SE elevation, one halved boarded door, one plain C19 door,
5 C20 casement windows. First floor, one C20 casement window and one more in
gabled dormer. Roof hipped at SW end only. Some framing exposed internally.
Arched braces to tiebeams and wallplates inside studs, not trenched. Mantel
beam of original hearth plain chamfered with lamb's tongue stops. Some original
floor boards. Enclosed by the latest SW extension a former exterior wall
remains, with vernacular pargetting of a star design, an unusual survival.
