Description

TL 50 SW NORTH WEALD BASSETT BLACKKHORSE LANE
7/2 White Cottage

II

Row of early C19 cottages, now one house, extended in C20. Roughcast render,
probably over brickwork, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. Aligned
approximately E-W, aspect N, with 2 axial chimney stacks. C20 rear extension
behind W end. Garage block at E. end, C20. 2 storeys. Boarded door with
diamond shaped light, 5 C20 casement windows on ground floor, 4 on first floor.
"Blocked door just W of W chimney stack. This was probably a block of 4 cottages
originally, with each chimney stack in the partition wall between 2. Later
it would have been converted to 2 cottages, and eventually to one house. The
extra doors would have been just W of the E chimney stack, and just E of the
W chimney stack, their positions now occupied by windows.
