TL 40 NE NORTH WEALD BASSETT LONDON ROAD

House, C18, extended in C19 and C20. Red brick, Flemish bond, roofed with
handmade red clay tiles. Originally of L plan, with chimney stacks in NE gable
and in axis of rear (SE) wing. C19 extension in angle and extending to E.
Single storey lean-to extension in S angle. C20 extension at SR end of front
elevation. 2 storeys with attics. NW elevation, central pilastered doorcase
flanked by ornamental lions. Two 6-light sash windows with wide stucco
surrounds and convex sheet glass, 3 similar windows on first floor and one 4-
light sash window in SW extension. Gablet roof over same. On original roof,
raised verge with stone kneelers. In rear extension, flat arches of gauged
brickwork over windows.
