TL 40 SE NORTH WEALD BASSETT WOODSIDE

II

Early C19 house, altered in late C19 and C20. Brickwork with roughcast render,
slate roof. Square plan, aspect E, with 3 internal chimney stacks. Single
storey wing to N of E corner. Lean-to extension at NE corner of it. Lean-to
extensions in NW angle. Conservatory to W, C20. Roof fully hipped, low pitch.
S elevation (towards road), 4 window range of early C19 double-hung sash windows
of 16 lights. E (entrance) elevation, half-glazed door under flat roofed porch
with 2 complete and 2 engaged fluted Ionic columns of wood on stone plinths,
Greek key design on architrave. One late C19 bay window, with double-hung
sashes, one late Cl9 double-hung sash window, one more above door. The entrance
elevation is asymmetrical. In N wing, blocked doorcase with fluted pilasters,
architrave with triglyphs and rosettes, shallow hood.
