Early C17 house, extended in C18 and C20. Timber framed, weatherboarded and
plastered, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. 3 bays aligned approx. NE-SW,
with inserted axial chimney stack between NE and middle bays, and external
chimney stack at SW end. Rear extensions C18, forming a T plan. Extension in
S angle 1968. 2 storeys. Front elevation of white painted weatherboards.
3 window range of C20 casements, C20 door. Roof hipped at both ends, rear
extension half-hipped. Some framing exposed internally. Jowled wallposts,
straight tiebeams, curved bracing trenched inside studs. Shop-chamfered beams.
Clasped purlin roof, collar between NE and middle bays severed for inserted
chimney. Some smoke-blackened medieval rafters re-used as rafters and purlins.
