TL 51 SE ABBESS, BERNERS AND ROMAN ROAD (NW SIDE)
BEAUCHAMP RODING

House. C14 or earlier with later extension towards road. Timber framed and
plastered, 1 storey and attics with lean-to on SE corner. Thatched roof gabled,
at both ends with 2 ridge line, red brick, stacks. 1 gabled dormer to W. 2
eyebrow dormers and 1 gabled dormer to E. Pantiled lean-to modern porch on
W. Modern leaded light casement window, 1 of bowed form on S gable. Interior
shows remains of an open hall with wide stud spacings, compression braces and
a splayed scarf joint with vertical butts.
