House. Early C16 with later alterations and extensions. Timber framed and
plastered, with yellow brick facade. Red plain tile roof, hipped and gabled.
2 storeys and attics. 5 window range, vertical sliding sashes with glazing
bars. Some sashes with side lights, all with gauged brick arches. C16 wing
jettied to rear. Red and yellow brick chimney stacks. Internally, the original
frame is of high quality, with braced collar, side purlin roof. C17, C18 and
C19 detailing includes doors, fire surrounds, and Doric half columns in entrance
hall. Moated site (RCHM 9).
