7/31 Rookery Farmhouse


House, now 2 dwellings. C15 or earlier hall house with crosswings, extensively
altered in C16. Timber framed and plastered, with red plain tile hipped roof.
2 storeys. Former crosswing gables now oversailed. 4 window range, C17, C19
and C20 leaded casements. Early C19, flat moulded canopies on brackets to
doors. Original wings gabled at rear. C16 red brick end wall chimney stacks
with diagonal shafts. Formerly moated site. (RCHM 13).
