Description

TL 60 NW WILLINGALE NORTON HEATH ROAD,
(South side),
6/28 Telfords Farmhouse

II

Cottage, early C17, timber framed and plastered with peg tile roofs. Main block
is of one storey with attics with a two storey crosswing at the west end and
pyramid roofed C20 extension at east end. The front has two gabled dormers
in front slope an off-centre slender stack on ridge line and a hipped roof over
the crosswing. Windows are C20 casements with leaded lights and there is a
band of black weatherboarding running all round the lower wall areas of the
building. Probably originally an open hall house, much altered in detail, but
arched braced storey post and small arch braces to crosswing tiebeam still in
situ. Inglenook fireplace and chamfered cyma profiled bridging joist support
for inserted floor.
