TL 60 NW WILLINGALE SHELLOW ROAD,
(North side),
6/7 off farm track loom

Windmill Farmhouse

Farmhouse, late C17, early C18, timber framed and plastered with half hipped
peg tile roof and off-centre red brick ridge line stack. To the rear making
an 'L' shaped plan form a 2 storey red brick early C19 extension with hipped
peg tile roof and lean-to on east side with continuous roof. Front has 3 window
range of double hung sash windows with squarish small panes and early C19 door
surround with flat hood on scroll brackets and rectangular fanlight. Rear
extension has similar double hung sash windows but with segmental arched brick
heads on ground floor. Interior somewhat altered but with heavy bridging joists
with stop chamfers exposed and roof of framed side purlin design. Stack was
formerly of the'tunnel through'variety but has been much rebuilt at ground floor
level. Some exposed framing in rear service block.
