House, C17, altered in C18 and C19. Timber framed, weatherboarded, roofed with
slates and handmade red clay Roman tiles. 3 bays aligned approx. NE-SW, with
axial chimney stack in middle bay, forming a lobby-entrance. Stair tower to
rear of stack, roofed with Roman tiles. 2-storey rear wing from E end, roofed
with Roman tiles, and single-storey extension beyond, roofed with slates. 2-
storey lean-to extension behind middle, single-storey lean-to extension in W
angle. 2 storeys with attics. Front pitch of roof clad with slates, rear pitch
with Roman tiles. Half-glazed double doors at front of flat-roofed porch,
C19/20, and 2 tripartite double-hung sash windows of 2-4-2 lights, late C19.
First floor, 2 similar windows and one late C19 casement window. Wooden
parapet. Slightly asymmetrical. Axial beams above ground floor and first floor
rooms plain-chamfered with lamb's tongue stops. In NE gable at attic level,
one original C17 window consisting of one fixed light and one wrought iron
casement in hardwood frame, both with leaded rectangular panes, some early
glass. Newel stair, mainly original.
