2 houses, C18, combined to form public house. Timber framed, weatherboarded,
roofed with handmade red clay plain tiles at the front, various materials at
the rear. Aligned approx. NE-SW, aspect SE. Consists of (1) house with gambrel
roof, axial chimney stack at NE end, 2-storey lean-to extension at rear, both
rear pitches roofed with dark red clay Roman tiles; single-storey flat-roofed
extension to rear, C20 (2) house with pitched roof to NE, single-storey lean-to
extension to rear, both rear pitches roofed with interlocking concrete tiles;
parallel bakehouse with chimney stack at SW end, and extension with hipped roof
beyond, these roofs of red clay Roman tiles (3) wagon way with room over to
NE. 2 storeys. 3 glazed doors, of which one is in a C19 porch, 2 Tuscan
columns with square bases and shallow pediment, 4 diamond leaded casement
windows, C20, and 4 more on first floor. Interior of ground floor much
altered.
