Manor house, mid-C17, altered in C18 and C19. Timber framed, roughcast rendered
roofed with handmade red clay tiles. L-plan, consisting of main range of 3
bays aligned approx. N-S with axial chimney stack at each end and crosswing at S
end extending to E. Lean-to porch in the angle, and extra lean-to porch further
N on E wall. Single-storey lean-to extension at N end. 2 storeys with attic.
W elevation, glazed door in glazed tiled porch, C20. 2 C19 casement windows,,
one C20 casement window, one late C19 double-hung sash window of 4 lights.
first floor, one late C19 double-hung sash window of 4 lights, one early C19
tripartite double-hung sash window of 4-16-4 lights. Base wall of yellow brick,-
late C19, roughcast rendered above. Exposed bears above ground and first floor,
plain-chamfered with lamb's tongue stops. Above N ground-floor room, exposed
joists of deep section, unchamfered; elsehwere, joists plastered to soffits.
Some framLig exposed in partition walls only. Roof of butt purlin construction,
incorporating one re-used roll-moulded timber, early C16. Complete C17 window
in internal position lighting first floor corridor, with hardwood frame, wrought
iron saddle bars, diamond glazing with muff glass and leading. C18 back stair
and plain panelling rising directly from kitchen to attic, in addition to main
stair. C19 alterations comprise brick base walls, some floors and windows.
