Barn, late C16, altered in C20. Timber framed, weatherboarded, roofed with
handmade red clay tiles. 3 bays aligned approx. N-s, of a barn which formerly
extended further S, now closed at S end with breeze blocks, cement rendered.
Entrance on E side of S bay. Lean-to extension on W side of N bay. Jowled
posts, heavy studding, curved tension bracing above girts inside studs, not
trenched. Queen strut roof, clasped purlins, no wind bracing. Hanging knees
have replaced 4 arched braces to tiebeams. Rafters originally of horizontal
section with gauging holes in sides, now reset on edge.
