GV II

Public House. Circa early C19. Painted brick in Flemish bond, the
front wall tuck-pointed and with vermiculated rustication to
quoins, cornice and blocking course. Double-span mansard slate
roof with coped gable ends. Rendered gable end stacks. Plan:
Double-depth central entrance plan with later low extensions at
rear. Exterior: 2 storeys and attic. Symmetrical 5-bay east
front. Large C19 12-pane sashes without horns and with cills.
Central doorway with glazed and panelled door, rectangular
overliqht and Roman Doric portico. 3 flat-roof dormers in mansard
roof with 2-light casements and glazing bars. Rear west has 2
similar sashes on first floor, small 2-storey wing to right of
centre and lower extensions to left and right. Interior: not
inspected.
