Monument to John Chalk
6 metres north of Lych


Monument. Dated 1903. Cast iron. Etna Foundry. To John Chalk, died April 30
1903, aged 25 years. Central inscribed rectangular panel, moulded base and
cornice, moulded recessed side pilasters surmounted by an ornate urn with
foliate stem and soffitifluted sides and lid, incurved handles. The urn draped
from the left, hung with a bay leaf garland and flowers. A rare type of
churchyard memorial.
