TL 80 NE GREAT TOTHAM OFF CHURCH ROAD

6/127 Barn approx. 30 metres
west of Sain's Farmhouse

Barn. C15/C16 with C19/C20 re-roof. Timber framed and weatherboarded. Half
round corrugated iron clad roof, similar to midstrey. Brick pillars to right
lean-to granary, this with original door and ironmongery. 5 bays. Halved
arched braces to walls. Jowled storey posts, now with hanging knees, the
original arched brace mortices with dowel holes still visible. Halved and
bridled top plate scarfs. C19/C20 unusual boarded vaulted roof structure with 3
queen posts to each tie beam.
