TL 80 SW WOODHAM MORTIMER SOUTHEND ROAD

GV II

House. C17 or earlier. C18/C19 red brick facing and later alterations. C20
single storey extension to left. Timber framed, red brick faced. Hipped red
plain tiled roof to front range. Various ranges to rear. Right and left red
brick chimney stacks, square attached shafts at rear. 4 window range to first
floor, 3 to ground floor of tripartite small paned vertically sliding sashes
with segmental heads. Off centre right red brick porch with stone pediment. 4
panelled door with reveal panels. Internal features include chamfered bridging
joists, good fireplaces, twisted baluster staircase reputed to come from
Beeleigh Abbey. The Grange recorded as a property of Beeleigh Abbey at one
time.
