GV II

House. C17 with later alterations and additions. Timber framed and parget
plastered. Red plain tiled roofs. Central red brick chimney to gabled range,
forward plastered chimney to right of gable. C20 extension to right, C18 range
to rear left, this of one storey and attics, main range 2 storeys and cellar.
Gabled dormer with shutters to left range 1:1 window range of C20 lead
casements, flat head dormer to C20 range, roof extends to form a right return
porch. C20 door. Original range with restored inglenook fireplace, stairs
winding around chimney stack, chamfered bridging joists, vertically boarded
doors with original ironmongery. Cellar of 3 bays with brick floor. Halved and
bladed scarf to top plate. Side purlin roof to left wing. 1695 marriage
settlement of William Fitch relates to "house newly built for my warrener".
