TL 80 NW WOODHAM WALTER THE STREET
House. Circa 1814 with later additions and alterations. Gault brick. Hipped
grey slate roof, projecting eaves. 3 gault brick chimney stacks. 2 storeys
and cellar. Right and left 2 storey bays. 1:1:1 window range of small paned
vertically sliding sashes with gauged brick arches. Central half-glazed door,
moulded surround, flat canopy on brackets. Left extension of one window range
with round headed light to ground floor. Wreathed handrail to stick baluster
staircase. A hot air engine for pumping water was installed in the basement,
1902 (Essex and The Industrial Revolution - J. Booker, E.R.O. No. 66).
