Small cottage, C18/C19 now used as a bird observatory. C19. Timber framed and
weatherboarded. Grey slate roof, outshot at rear and to front, right of the
central gabled porch. Red brick chimney stack. 1:1:1 range of vertically
sliding sash windows with shutters. A rare survival of a marshman's cottage,
possibly erected as accommodation for the seaman manning semaphore signal
station during Napoleonic Wars.
