TM 02 NE ELMSTEAD THE CHASE

3/21 Barn approx. 30 metres
south west of Lodge
Farmhouse

Barn. C16 origin with C18 extension and roof. Timber framed and
weatherboarded. Corrugated asbestos clad roof, brick plinth. Gabled midstreys
to north east and south west. The 6 original bays with halved wall bracing and
halved and bridled top plate scarf. Originally with arched braces to tie beams,
now with hanging knees. The roof has been raised to match the height of the 5
southern C18 bays and is now of side purlin ridgeboard construction.
